Creativity
I think we are all artists in the sense of being creative. We are not all painters or photographers or sculpters or musicians, but we are all creative in some way. And if we aren't using that creativity, then I think we are missing a special part of our inheritance as human beings.

There is something about being creative in whatever endeavors we give ourselves to that makes us feel a little more human and alive. So I would encourage you to explore the possibility of adding something creative to your life.

Resources
There are lots of resources for artists and creative sorts, but here are some of my favorites:
Books
The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron
How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci by Michael J. Gelb
The Everyday Work of Art by Eric Booth
Learning by Heart by Corita Kent and Jan Steward
Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards
The Vein of Gold by Julia Cameron
Walking in this World by Julia Cameron

E-Notes
It all began in grade two. I drew a sunflower in my little art scribler and my teacher, bless her heart, praised it highly and told me I was an artist. I proceeded to fill almost all the rest of the scribler with all sizes and colors of sunflowers - which in hindsight seems a little much - but it meant I had the fortune of discovering my artistic creativity early in my childhood. Actually, creativity in many different forms is something I have always enjoyed and sought out, whether that was learning to sew and cook, to garden and do photography, to play organ and guitar, to learn knitting and crocheting, calligraphy and bookbinding, writing and poetry, or more recently how to use a computer and create webpages.

When it comes to the arts and crafts part of my creativity, it's probably easier to explain with pictures rather than words. Below you will find a mini gallery of some of the arts and crafts that I have created over the years. I hope you enjoy them.

Some of these pieces are available as prints. If you would like to purchase a copy, please contact me.
